Here is a very broad list of what keyword research consists of:
- Make a broad list of the terms and phrases that describe your business and the products and services you sell or market
- Use a keyword research tool like WordTracker or Keyword Discovery to learn new and related terms
- Eliminate any irrelevant keyword phrases
- Incorporate these terms into the content of your website. Be careful not to overstuff your terms in your content!
- Monitor your website using an Analytics program to see which terms are working for you
- Look at the terms that are working, and which ones that are not, making adjustments to your website as needed
